Self Esteem: A Manual for Mentors – Understanding a Complex Phenomenon Self Esteem: A Manual for Mentors may be used in conjunction with Books 1-2 of the Self Esteem Series. The series allows attention to a major issue concerning parents and teachers – self esteem in our children. These photocopy master activity books are aimed at early intervention before problems become unsolvable. The books contain some 15 pages of easily understood background notes complemented by over 30 activity pages which provide a basis for communication for parents and teachers concerned about ‘at risk’ children.
The Manual For Mentors is a useful background to the topic and provides a training program for care givers such as teachers, parents, social workers, sports coaches and so on, who wish to maximise their impact as significant others in the process of enhancing young people’s self esteem. The anticipated outcome of using this program is that participating care givers will become effective self esteem mentors.
