This outcome-linked series uses the theory of Multiple Intelligences to explore science themes within the classroom. Each book in the Science Solutions series explains the theory of Multiple Intelligences so that students are able to identify and focus on their preferred learning styles. Extension tasks are provided for independent workers to deepen their understanding of the main task by developing creative ideas and solutions. Students are also encouraged to apply their knowledge in a real-life setting, promoting community awareness and environmental action. Science Solutions Book 1 contains two themes:
- Seasons and Weather activities covered in this book include the design of measuring instruments, the investigation of human responses to weather (such as building design) and seasons (such as seasonal sport) and the impact that weather has on our environment.
- Water Science introduces some of the structural properties of water and includes hands-on tasks to explain concepts such as saturation. Students are required to research the water cycle, and consider water-wise actions that can be carried out in the community.
