The activities in the Super Space Activity Book involve the use and extension of “thinking” strategies such as Mind Mapping®, brainstorming, problem reversal, lateral thinking and forced analogies. The tasks are designed to enhance the development of cognitive and affective processes such as risk taking, applied imagination, originality, curiosity, flexibility and elaboration.
This Blackline Masters book contains a set of task cards ideally suited to a library learning centre. The cards are designed to promote the use of creative thinking skills based around the topic of space and astronomy and are to be used in conjunction with the Super Space Resource Book.
Included are activities exploring the solar system and its components, as well as stars, asteroids, comets, meteors, eclipses, the cosmos, galaxies and the features of our universe as a whole. The activities focus on the study of space and astronomy over time, providing students the opportunities to research the origins of the universe, the ongoing quest to find extraterrestrial life and the reasons why astronomy has intrigued people throughout the ages. Technological advances are examined throughout, allowing students to develop their imagination and innovation skills through a range of design activities.
